We are researching the SHIMP family who are my husband's maternal side of the family. We have information that a William SHIMP, born 9-24-1833 in East Cocalico Twp., Cumberland County, PA settled in Highland County, OH. Later died at the National Military Home for Soldiers in Dayton, OH. Would appreciate any info on the Shimps that were/are in Highland County of this family line. Also, does anyone know who the parents of a Michael SHIMP born about 1843 in PA, married a Lou Ann/Lourania PRETTYMAN in Belmont County, OH might be? There is a tie, but we can't get the info on Michael's parents, but are confident he has ties to the SHIMPs who settled not only in Highland County, OH but those that settled in Ross County, OH, Starke County, OH and Columbiana County, OH. Any little scrape of info might help pull this SHIMP family history together. Will share info that I currently have. .
