1.) You must contact the Cemetery Office
for all available information on the plot(s) you would like us
to photograph. Neither Laura nor I can request plot information
for everyone that responds as there is a limit. From past experience
we have learned that it would be in your best interest if you
did the asking.
2.) When you write or call, do not ask
for information on more than three individuals from the Cemetery
office staff.
3.) If you are writing, give as much information
as you can without sending documentation, ask if there is a fee
for the lookup (if you can afford it include a donation) and
include a self-addressed envelope with your request. This is
a privately-owned cemetery; be polite and concise in your request.
A handout from the Cemetery with their address is at our temporary
website: http://www.bluetreeart.com/BrooklynHeightsCemetery/
4.) If you are going to call, first download
or have access to the Cemetery's handout. Give as much information
as you can. Be precise in copying when you get information on
plot information. Look at your map and try to figure out where
the plot is. Again, this is a privately owned cemetery; be polite
and concise in your request. Handout from the Cemetery with the
telephone number is at our temporary website:
http://www.bluetreeart.com/BrooklynHeightsCemetery/
5.) A recent walk around the Cemetery shows
that some of the Sections are not marked either because the markers
are overgrown with grass or have been dug up by maintenance equipment.
We will do our best to find your plot(s).
6.) Laura and I will take requests on a
first-come, first-serve basis. We anticipate a large number of
requests, so we must limit you to three. The Cemetery plot directions
are listed as Lot Number, Section and Grave Number. If we are
at a family plot and see that there are a number of individuals
with the same last name, we will treat this as one request and
you will get digital photos of all the headstones, in addition
to the family stone (if there is one).
7.) Digital photos will be sent as an attachment
in an email as a JPEG file. Make sure we have your correct email
address and you have your server set up to receive photo attachments
within your email.
8.) Laura and I are not charging anything
for this service. We consider this a "Random Act of Genealogical
Kindness." We do ask for your patience. If for any reason
the cemetery closes down due to the recent health scare, we will
post a notice on the OHCUYA Forum.
9.) When you get your cemetery information
please use this email address for your request: patcle67857@peoplepc.com.
If you would like to volunteer to be a part of this Random Act
of Kindness, please contact me at the above email address.
