Obituary of

Joseph Byron BURT

Joseph Byron Burt, 89, of Cambridge, formerly of N. 8th St., Cambridge, died in Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center Tuesday. Born at Byesville, Oct 17, 1911, he was a son of the late Earl and Mary Hamilton Burt. He was a 1929 graduate of Brown High School.

In 1937, he married Evelyn Emde Burt, who died in 1994.

He was an appliance sales manager with Montgomery Ward and was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. He also was a life member of the Elks No. 448; a life member of the Knights of Columbus and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Benedict Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Burt, and two sisters, Mary Reynolds and Virginia Wigfield.

He is survived by two sons, Joseph (Mildred) Burt of New Philadelphia and Michael (Janet) Burt of Cambridge; four daughters, Carolyn (Frank) Mingione of Madison, Ind., Ellen (James) Donnelly of Columbus, Kathleen (Richard) Houston of Cambridge and Mary (Phillip) Fogle of Cambridge; 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a. m. in St. Benedict Church with Fr. Robert Borer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Cambridge. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. in Thorn-Black Funeral Home at Cambridge.
