Mary Jane DOUGHERTY BAIR

Mary Jane Dougherty was born in Washington county, Pa., June 10th , 1829; died June 29, 1913, aged 84 years and 19 days. She removed with her parents, James and Susan Dougherty, to Harrison county, Ohio, when about three years of age. She was united in marriage to Reuben Bair on Dec. 16, 1847. To this union six children were born: James W., John Wesley, Elijah L., and infant son born June 13, 1860, Susan E. and David M.

The deceased is survived by three great grandchildren, all of whom reside in the community except W. C. Bair of Chico, Calif., and F. C. of Little Rock Ark.

She was converted and joined the M.P. church at Pleasant Hill in early womanhood, afterward removing her membership to Chestnut Hill U. B. church where she remained a consistent member until her death. Funeral services were held July 1 at Pleasant Hill church, conducted by her former pastor, Rev. R. Watson, of Medina, Ohio.
