Know all men by these presents that we Jacob COOPER and Nancy his wife, Jacob 
WEYER and Mary his wife, Benjamin GROVE and Holly his wife, Benjamin HORTON and 
Milly his wife and John Jarnigan, Sen And Mary his wife for and in consideration 
of the sum of eight hundred dollars to us in hand paid or received to be paid by 
John COCKE we have bargained and sold to the said John COCKE four Negro Slaves 
(to wit). Dolly about twenty six or seven years of age, Thomas about eight or 
nine, Jeff about six and James about four and John near two years of age and we 
the said parties do by these presents warrant and defend the said Negroes to the 
said John Cocke his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof we have 
hereunto set our hands and seals this the 26th day of March 1810

Highland Co On the 26 day of Mch 1810 Noah Jarnigan and Berry Mayes the two 
subscribing witnesses to this written bill of sale personally came before us 
Richard Evans Evans and John Davidson two of the associate Judges of the Court 
of Common Pleas for said county and made oath that they saw the written names, 
Jacob and Nancy Cooper, Jacob and Mary Weyer, Benjamin and Holly Grove, Benjamin 
and Milly Horton parties to the within bill of sale, sign seal and acknowledge 
the same to be their own hands and seals the day and date above.

State of Ohio I Allen Trimble clerk of the Court of common pleas of said 
Highland Co county do certify that Richard Evans and John Davidson Esqs. 
are associate Judges of the court of common pleas of the County of Highland and 
their certificate as each is entitled to due faith and credit. In Testimony 
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal of office this 28th day of Mch

State of Ohio I Richard Evans Sen associate Judge of the court of C.P. 
Highland Co of said County do certify that Allen Trimble whose hand is 
attached to this foregoing certificate is the clerk of the court of C. P. of 
said county of Highland duly appointed and qualified and the seal threunto 
assigned is the seal of said court, given under my hand and seal this 28th day
