Gall Family Letters

From Claudia Thiry

Sinking Spring O. July 24, "22,

My Dear Boy

am enclosing check for $20 (twenty dollars) as a birthday gift to you. Am aware that you will not receive it on the 25th as I intended that you should, but failed to get it started Sat. We are having very dry & hot weather here & each & all are plodding along in much the same way.

Oftn think of what a pleasant surprise it would be to get a letter from you telling me
how business is there & if your profession is giving you more profit. Do hope it is &
that you are prospering as some 4 & 5 yrs ago. The past year was a losing one for us.

Do write to me and tell me about things. Sent money order to Melva the other day for
her gift. Hope hers has been & yours will be recd. in due time. How ??? that you will
feel disposed to write to me & hoping that all are well.

Am lovingly
Grandmother

Have hoped to see in papers that Kansas had given the bonus to her soldier sons, but
never saw any mention of it. Sis arrived Sat. to open her vacation with us.
