Mary M. HULSEY dau. of Buford HULSEY & Lucinda GARGIS was born in October 1851 in McNairy Co., TN. She married a Mr. HORTON in Sebastian Co., AR on Aug 9, 1869. They had one child, Alice Ann HORTON, that we have record of and probably others as yet undiscovered. There is a family rumor of a tragedy which may have taken the lives of the other children, but it is unproven at this time. Mary was widowed and then married a Mr. BUTLER. They had one daughter, Jennie May BUTLER, born in Indian Territory in April 1884. Jennie May married James D. COPELAND in Owl, Choctaw Nation (Indian Territory) on July 01, 1900. Their marriage was listed in the Choctaw Nation marriage records. Mary was widowed again and married John TYLER & they had 1 daughter, Barsha A. TYLER (married name COPELAND), b. July 09, 1891 in Indian Territory. Barsha died August 24, 1910 and is buried in the Centrahoma Cemetery, Centrahoma, Coal Co., OK, I would like to discover the identity of Mr. Horton and of Mr. Butler. I am also looking for Mary's burial place, Jennie May's burial place (married name COPELAND), and information about any other children that Mary might have had. In the 1900 Federal Census of Indian Territory, Mary M. Tyler, Jennie May Butler, Barsha A. Tyler & James Copeland were living in Owl Township of Atoka County, OK. Mary was listed in the 1910 census and having had 8 children, but with only 2 living. If anyone recognizes any of these names or has any information to share, please get in touch with me.
