I have been researching James (Jim) R (Richard) Johnson and father John Johnson. All I know is John and James came from Tippa, MS. I have a copy of his death certificate (James) and wife's Alice E. Street, and I have been able to find him on a couple of census. I can't seem to find John or a marriage certificate for James R. Johnson m. Alice E. Street. His (James) death certificate said he was born in 1863, MS. I have writen every where in Tippa, MS and they can't seem to find any thing. I would dearly appreciate some help if someone had the time to do a look up for me. I have a copy of the Ponieer Interview for James and I have him on the census for 1900, 1910, and 1920. James is buried at Wards Chapel he died in 1945. I can't seem to find where he was born? Do you have any suggestions? I need a copy of the pioneer papers that John Johnson made for his interview, he is in Atoka Co, the only John that that I know of. I believe that James came to Atoka around 1880 with his dad (John). The family story is that they work for the railroad, but on the census it shows he was a farmer. 1900-- 1910--he was living in Milsan twp, Atoka 1920--he was living in Wilson twp, Atoka I think they were married around 1890 or 1896, I need a copy of the marriage certificate, I believe that James might be Choctaw.... lawrencebarbara@bellsouth.net |
