I am searching for information on the Adams family, specifically
Will/Willie/William and Birdie/Bertie (McDougal) Adams. They must have
come to the Boggy Depot area sometime between 1908 and 1912. They had
several children: Eunice, Daniel Otto, Ruby O., Gladys L., and
eventually Panzy Evelyn. I do not know if this list is entirely
complete, but it should be pretty close. Census records for Jan. 1920, show residence listed as Caney, Atoka County, OK. Will died sometime in 1922 or 1923 while working for the railroad somewhere around Fayetteville, AR according to our best sources. We think his family was still living in the area and that he was in route on a job assignment when he died. His untimely death left Birdie a widow with at least four children and one on the way. Birdie and her children stayed in the area after he died. She eventually remarried one Tigert. She died in Tushka, OK in November of 1940 and is reported to be buried in the Tushka Cemetery, Atoka County, OK. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Christine Uyehara |
