There is a chasm, dark impassable, deep and wide
Far, at the bottom is a surging tide
Till there is no passing from side to side
Not even had we wings;
We may look across in the sunlight fair
We may see each other standing there~
Oh, It Matters not how much we care
"Tis the eternalness of things!

We may look across with eager eye
And our bosoms swell with wistful sigh,
We only wait as the days go by
And find what solace we can
That hereafter, thru aeons of eternity
When from restrictions of an earth-life free
United and happy we'll forever be
When heaven the gulf shall span.
