John David Shepherd

John David Shepherd was born 1850 in Boone Co., IN and died 1928 in Catesby, OK. He married Rebecca Jane Funk, 1871 in Queen City, MO. Rebecca was born 1850 in Waynesburg, PA and died 1924 in Catesby. Both are buried at Poplar Grove Cemetery.

Jessie Mae b 1874 in Winterset IA married 1) Frank Tibbets 2) John Attebery

Felix Henry Shepherd b 1877 died 1880

Jenetta Lee (Nettie) b 1880 married LeRoy Vickroy

Felix & Nettie born in Queen City, MO

Asa Henderson Shepherd b 1882 in Villisca, IA married Goldia Mae Drake

George William Shepherd b 1884 Shenandoah, IA married Hazel Vaughn Crail

Walter Forrester Shepherd born 1887 Villisca, IA married Spicie Treat

Loure Valentine b 1890 in IA married Inzie Violet Chaptman

Glen Evertt born 1892 Queen City, MO married Mabel Gertrude Crail.

Although the family moved around quite a lot, they finally settled on a farm in Fargo in 1900. When they first arrived in Oklahoma, they stayed in the barracks at Fort Supply, then moved onto the land that John had acquired. Many of John and Rebecca's descendants still live in Ellis, Beaver, Woodward and Harper Counties. One of their great-granddaughters was born on the 100th anniversary of John's birth. In honer of that, her parents named her after Rebecca.
