Funeral services for Lois Buschman, 69 year old Perryton resident, were held Monday, November 17, at 10:00 a.m., at the Perryton Mennonite Church. Pastor Don Stoll officiated. Interment was in the Ochiltree County Cemetery under the direction of Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker.
Lois Marie Buschman was born October 19, 1934 near Booker, Tex., to Morris E. and Anna (Harbour) Smith. Lois graduated from Booker High School in 1954, and on November 28, 1954, she married Alvin Buschman at Booker. They were life long area residents, and were engaged in farming and ranching.
She was an active member of the Perryton Mennonite Church, were she was involved with the Mennonite Women's Organization, and where she taught Sunday School for numerous years. Lois was also a member of the Gideon's Auxiliary, Waka Home Extension Club and the Beehive Child Care Center. She was a full-time homemaker, and was named Homemaker of the Year in 1989. Mrs. Buschman made quilts for her children and grandchildren, and was involved with numerous charity organizations in the area. Lois was known as a servant, who spent her life serving her husband family and her community.
Mrs. Buschman died November 13, 2003 at Covenant Medical Center, at Lubbock, at the age of 69 years, and 24 days.
Lois is survived by her husband, Alvin, of the home; five sons and their wives, Job and Janis Buschman, of Lubbock, Tex., Kit and Jillda Buschman, of Amarillo, Tex., Tim and Tina Buschman, of Perryton, Tex., Terry and Sherri Buschman of Spearman, Tex., and Mark and Janelle Buschman, of Perryton, Tex.; two sisters, Shirley Robinson, of Booker, Tex., and Edna Bowen, of Perryton; 16 grandchidren and numerous other relatives and friends.
