James Otis Christy was born in Defiance county, Ohio, November 9, 1871, and departed this life June 27, 1906, at his home two miles east of Gage, Oklahoma, aged 34 years, 7 mos. and 18 days. He was married to Emma C. Beiderwell, September 13, 1899, and to this union were born three sons and one daughter. Four years ago the eldest son proceeded him to the better world. He became a Christian in the year 1900; although he did not live as faithful as he should have done, he said that he was not afraid to die. With his family he moved from his former home in Ohio, to Gage last January, buying a claim east of town, where he lived until his death. He leaves a wife and family and a father, a brother, and sister in Ohio, besides many other friends and relatives.
