Grandpa Clark passed away January 17th.

William Leonard Clark was born March 31st, 1849 near Danville, Kentucky, and died at the home of his son, Frank Clark, at Shattuck, Oklahoma on January 17th, 1925, aged 75 years, nine months and 16 days. He was married to his first wife, Louisa Jane Hicklen November 16th 1873 at Sigourney, Iowa. To this union was born three children: Robert Franklin Clark, of Shattuck; Wesley Lane Clark, of Harmon; and a daughter who died in infancy. Mrs. Clark died September 20th, 1880, and was buried near Rosehill, Iowa.

He was married to Anna M. Gillespie March 19th, 1882, to this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Ella Sober, of Shattuck.

He is survived by his two sons, one daughter, seventeen grandchildren, two great grand-children one brother, Thomas Clark and a host of friends who join with the family in their sad bereavement, Grandpa was a kind and loving father, a true friend, and in his passing away Ellis County has lost an honorable citizen.

Funeral services were conducted from the Nazarene church at Harmon, Oklahoma, by Rev. J. B. Grinstead on Wednesday January 21st, and the remains were laid to rest in the Harmon cemetery.
