Donald Wayne Clearwater, son of Ivan and Katherine Clearwater was born at Higgins, Tex., on September 1, 1947. He took leave of this life on May 24, 1989, at his home in Harahan, louisiana
Donald attended the Arnett school system and graduated from highschool in 1965 as the senior class valedictorian. He then entered Phillips University at Enid, graduating with a bachelors degree in political science in 1969. He then entered the University of Wisconsin at Madison where he did post graduate work in history and political science.
He has lived in Des Moines, Iowa; San Diego, Calif; in the Houston and Fort Worth areas and finally in Harahan, Louisiana. He was in the motel management at the time of his passing.
Donald was always interested in the political scene and was politically active since his high school years in many campaigsn, including those of presidents. He was a special inspiration tohis younger sisters whom he encouraged to attend college and get an education.
Donald is survived by his parents, Ivan and Ktherine Clearwater of Arnett; sisters, Bernice McKerrow of Kansas City, Missouri, Eulena Clearwater of Tulsa, Lola Maxfield of Arnett; his brothers Larry Clearwater of Arnett, Jimmy Clearwater of Norman; a loyal and true friend, Robert Sabatke of Harahan, Louisiana; also five nieces, seven nephews, his dear uncles and aunts, other relatives and dear friends.
Commital services were held Saturday, May 27, 1989, at 2:00 p.m. in the DeBolt Cemetery in Arnett.
