Friends and relatives were saddened to learn that Gary Compton 29, had been found dead in his trailer house Sunday about 7 p.m. as a result of a gunshot wound. Gary was associated in the dairy industry with his father-in-law, Dale New and it is understood that he had fed the cattle and had gone to his residence where he was found by his wife Bonnie when she returned from milking.
Gary was a graduate of the Arnett High School with the class of 1958 and was employed with a furniture company in Guymon. He later returned to Arnett where he operated the Deep Rock Station before going into the dairy business.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie, and a young son, Brent, of the home, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Compton of Arnett; three brothers and two sisters; Max of Springfield Colo.; Theron of Wichita; Monte of Arnett; Mrs. Wynona Allard of Arnett; and Mrs. Patricia Gann of Woodward.
Funeral services were held in the First Methodist Church in Arnett Wednesday afternoon and burial was in the Harmon Cemetery under the direction of Shaw Funeral home
