Christopher S. Connor was born in Peoria, Illinois, in the year of 1844,, and died at Arnett, Oklahoma, Tuesday night, September 9th, 1913, at 10:30 o'clock.
He leaves a wife and nine children to mourn his departure, all of whom reside in Illinois.
Mr. Connor has been a familiar figure around Arnett for the past seven years, and none knew him but to love him for his kind and gentle manner.
His remains were accompanied to Springfield, Illinois by his son, A. Conner, for burial. All who knew him, loved and respected him, will feel sad when they pass his humble dwelling and find that his chair still sits beside the door, vacant. Still we bow our heads in silent submissions to God's will and acknowledge the blessing of having had one whom all loved spared to as so long.
We can only remind those whom are left to mourn that he is not dead, be is only asleep--resting after a long and well spent life here; he cannot and would not if he could, return to us, we can, if we will, go to him.
