Miss Cassander Jennette Davis was born in Smith county, Tennessee, on January 28th, 1853, and died Thursday May 7th, 1929. Aged 76 years, three months and nine days. She came to Oklahoma in the year of 1905, and has made this her home. She leaves to mourn her loss, one brother, two sisters, four nieces, four nephews, twenty-three great nieces and nephews and one great, great niece. Two brothers having preceded her in death.
She united with the Methodist church in Tennessee, when she was a young woman, always living a conscientious and devout Christian life. She always felt it her duty as a Christian to do the will of her Master at all times. She was always ready to lend a helping hand in time of need-- both in acts of kindness and in words. Truly she could say: O Death where is they sting; O Grave, where is they victory?”
Funeral services were held at the home conducted by Rev. F. T. DeSelms. Interment was made in the Gage Cemetery.
