America Froage was born December 6, 1841, at Harrisonville, Missouri, and died at Enid, Okla., November 16, 1914, age 72 years, 11 months and 10 days. She moved from Harrisonville to Kansas and from Kansas to Oklahoma in 1896 thence to Enid where she spent the remainder of her days.
She had been a Christian since girlhood and bore the afflictions with Christian fortitude having been an invalid for 12 years from Rheumatism and Dropsy.
She was the mother of six children, five sons and one daughter, two sons having gone to their reward several years ago, leaves three sons and one daughter to mourn their loss. By her request, her remains were taken to Gage for interment, accompanied by all of her children, Arthur Anderson of McKenty, Tex., Mrs. Fannie Herlocken of Girard, Kan., and Harry and Charlie Froage of Gage, Harry having been called to her bedside a week before her death.
Her funeral was preached by Rev. Chamness at the Christian Church Wednesday at 2:30 , the text being taken from her favorite chapter, John 14:1-17.
