Elsie Mae Hanan, daughter of Will H. and Nola Stanberry Pierce, was born near doniphan, Missouri, on October 15, 1900. she passed from this life and netered Life Eternal on October 27, 1984, in the Vici Convalescent Home, Vici. Mrs Hanan was eighty-four years of age.
In her eaarly childhood Elsie Mae moved with her parents to a homestead north-east of Arnett where whe lived until her marriage
On February 24, 1921, elsie Mae Pierce was united in marriage to Ralph Hanan at the Dan Bosley home east of Gage. They established their home near Gage where they lived until 1927. Two daughters, Helen and Donna, and two sons, Eldon and Bob were born to this union.
In 1927 the Ralph Hanan family moved to a farm five miles northeast of Arnett where Mrs. hanan was to live for the next fifgy-five years of her life. These were beautiful years where there was much love and friendship; love for one another and for firends and neighbors, friendship for all who came within their realm of life.
Mrs. Hanan was a member of the Arnett Church of Christ. Christian love, living, and caring was evident in all that she said and did. Her days were filled with kindness and tenderness for all those about her.
Her special interests in life were her Church and her family. Her most beloved hoppy was caring for her plants and flowers.
(n 1982, following several months of failing health, special nurshing care was required for her comfort and well being. She then entered the Vici Nursing Home where she remained these past two years of her life
Mrs. Hanan was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will H. Pierce, three sisters, Grace Dawson, Lena Peirce, and Billie Cantrell, four brothers, Nona, Noel, Billy, and Walcie Pierce. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Hanan of the home near Arnett, their four children, Helen Sherrill and Eldon Hanan both of Arnett, Donna McNeely of Oklahoma City, and Bob Hanan of Stroud; Three sisters, Vina Willis of Doniphan, Missouri, Leona Woodworth of Hammond, Indiana, Leta Feilder of Harper, Kansas, and one brother Cecil Pierce of Lakeland, Florida; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, other loved ones, and a host of treasured friends.
Services were at the Church of Christ, Arnett with R. D. Edward and Ray Don Jackson officiating. Burial was in the DeBolt Cemetery, Arnett.
