Anna Katharina Weisshoar* was born in Germany on October 9th, 1864. She came to America in 1887. In 1900 she moved to Shattuck from Wakefield, Nebraska. On October 14, 1895, she was married to Emil Helmke. To this union six children were born: Christine, Paul, Rose, Frieda, Katie and Fred. Others who mourn her departure are her husband, two brothers, two sisters and a host of relatives and friends.
She was baptized in the Lutheran Church in early infancy and was a faithful member of the church to her death, on June 4th, 1919.
The funeral services were conducted at the home on Thursday, June 5th, 1919, at 10:00 A. m., and the body was interred in the Gage Cemetery, the Rev. L. H. Deffner, pastor of Zions Lutheran Church officiating.
