Samuel Monroe Hixson, was born in Ohio, on the 24th day of July, 1840 and died at the home of his son, who resides near Arnett, on may 26th, he was 72 years, 10 months 3 days old at the time of his death.
Mr. Hixson moved from Ohio to Missouri, and thence to Texas in the year of 1873, where he resided until the year of 1890 when he moved to Oklahoma.
He was married to Mary T. Rice, in the year of 1869, to which union were born 10 children, eight of whom are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving father.
Mr. Hixson has been a dront bible student and christian since early manhood.
Funeral services were conducted at the grave by Rev. W. G. Azbill, after which the body was laid to rest in the Debolt cemetery.
