Word was received by relatives here this week, that W. M. (Matt Jenkins, 82 years old pioneer citizen of Arnett and one of the first merchants in the town, died Monday at his home in Phoenix; following illness of several weeks.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by his widow who has been an invalid for several years, two sons, Troy and Ray Jenkins, two daughters, Ethel and Glee, and all of whom were reared in this community.
One grandson, Bernard Null resides six miles west of Arnett all other members of the family, moved to Arizona and the west coast more than twenty-five years ago.
Mr. Jenkins is remembered by the old-timers of this section and his passing will be regretted by many of his old time friends.
Funeral rites were held at Phoenix Tuesday.
