Allen Schoenhals

Allen Schoenhals, 88, passed to be with his lord on February 26, 2004, at the Shattuck Nursing Center, Shattuck, Oklahoma. He was a kind, loving and giving person and will be missed by family and friends.

Allen was born at the home place on October 29, 1915, to Henry H. an dMollie (Lkeing Schoenhals. He gerw up on the farm with his five brothers and tw sisters, in the environment of a good Christian home. He enjoyed the farm, and learned early to work hard. He would carry and share his work ethic throughout his life. He attended the Star Valley Country School while growing up, and graduated from Shattuck High School in 1933.

On July 28, 1940, he married Ester Meier. This union was blessed with five children and lasted 63 years.

In 1981, after 26 years of service, Allen retired from the Shattuck National Bank. During his employment, he mand many friends. His customers and co-workers enjoyed his with and humor, and the older generation loved talking in German which he learned growing up. He enjoyed his retirement years spending time with his family, working on the farm and golfing with his friends.

Allen was a lifetime resident of Shattuck and a member of the St. Paul Congressional Church where he served and worshiped.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Henry, Fred, Edward, Ted and Reuben; his sister, Margaret; and infant brothers, Victor and Alexander.

He is survived by his wife, Esther of the home; sisber, Ruby Myers of New Martinsville, West Virginia; and his five children, Dough of Shattuck; Don of Midwest City; Linda White and husband Carl, of Broken Arrow; Jim of Shattuck; and Rick and wife, Sondra, of Weatherford; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandson, many neices and nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Newman Memorial Hospital Foundation, 905 S. Main St., Shattuck, OK 73858.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 1, 2004, at the First Baptist Church, Shattuck, Okla., with Pastor Gene Land and Pastor Floyd Thiessen officiating. Interment was in the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery with the Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck in charge of arrangements.
