JANUARY 6, 1916

Margaret Evelyn Shannon was born October 10th, 1832 in Lawrence County, Tennessee. She was married in Oct. 10, 1854 to A. B. Gibbs who proceeded her some years ago. To this union was born four sons and four daughters, all of whom are living except one daughter who died two years ago. Mrs. Gibbs raised her family in Illinois and Kansas and came to Oklahoma with her daughter Mrs. L. M. Lee, twelve years ago. Since which time she has made her home at Gage where she has endeared herself to all who knew her.

Mother Gibbs was a member of the Christian church of Gage at the time of her death January 2nd 1916, aged 7 years, 2 month and 2 days. The funeral serves were conducted at the Christian church at three o'clock Sunday by her pastor, Elder Chamness and interment was made in the gage Cemetery.

"Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord form hence forth; Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; for their works follow them"
