Graveside services were held for Margaret Stripe on January 5, 1994, at 4:00 p.m. in the Shattuck Cemetery under the direction of the Good Samaritan Funeral Home. Minister Chuck Gilbert of First Christian Church officiated. She passed away Sunday, January 2, 1994, in the Newman Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
Margaret May Stripe was born April 3, 1900, in Raymond, Kans., to Amy Jane Butler Raurk and William Judson Raurk.
She was married to Loyd Anderson Bayless on March 6, 1919. To this union two children were born, Lonnie Mac and Evelyn May. Margaret was then married to Henry Stripe December 21, 1943 at Buffalo, Okla.
Margaret leaves her sone, Lonnie Mac Bayless, and wife, Dorothy of Modesto, Calif; her son-in-law and his wife, Bill and Mary Flaherty of Gage; grandchildren, Marjorie Sue and Larry Miller, Lusby, Maryland, Patricia and Bruce Shapton, Auburn, Calif, Christine and DeWayne Rymer, Bailey, Colo., Mike and Linda Flaherty, Shattuck, Okla., Time and Kathy Flaherty, Medford, Okla., Sherry and Gary constable, Livermore, Calif., Scott Bayless and Lon Bayless, Modesto, Calif.; also 21 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Margaret was born in Kansas but lived the majority of her life in the Shattuck area. She attended the First Christian Church and was employed by Newman Memorial Hospital. She has resided in the Vici Nursing Home for the past six years.
