Harvey R. Thomas, age 23, son of Mr. And Mrs. Tracy Thomas of the Bishop community was reported by the Secretary of War as killed in an airplane crash at Aitape, New Guinea, this month. The message was received by his parents Saturday night, November 11.
Pfc. Thomas was a radio operator on a bomber and had been overseas since March 11, 1943.
Pfc. Thomas graduated from the Bishop High School with the class of '39. he was working near Fresno, California; when he was called to the colors in August 1942.
Pfc. Thomas was born at the Thomas home in the Bishop community February1, 1921. He is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Thomas, and five brothers, Arthur, Lewis, Eugene, Jack and Elbridge.
