Matilda May Thompson, 106, died Thursday at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Woodward. Funeral Services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Arnett with Rev. Jerry Hopkins, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Ioland Cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson was born April 29, 1877 in Callahan County, Texas. She grew up in Wellington, Kansas and moved to Whitehead, Oklahoma at the age of 17, where she married Waldemar Thompson.
Surviving are three sons, Giles Thompson, Guthrie; Arthur and Waldemar Thompson, Arnett; 7 daughters, Dollie Randall, Mooreland, Claudie Harden, Davenport, Venus Payne, Elk City, Magdalena Farris, Arnett, Florence Pratt, Norman, Cleo Rieker, Edmond, and Mary Hixon, Vici; one sister Birdie White, Fountain Valley, California.
Also 40 grandchildren and 99 great grandchildren.
