Ollie Ogela Smith, daughter of Ogela and Claiborne Smith was born at Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. On June 6, 1898. She came to Oklahoma in 1900. She had taught in school for several years.
On April 16, 1907, she was united in marriage to Sid Walton at Shattuck, Okla.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd in 1905 and in 1927 by a son Houston, aged 13 years.
She passed away Monday morning, April 14, at 8 o’clock, at the Shattuck Hospital, aged 58 years, 10 months and 10 days. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Opal Kelley and Ann Shelton; one sister and one brother, one half-sister and two Hal-brothers; four grandsons, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church here on Thursday afternoon, April 17, 2:30 o’clock. Burial was made in the Shattuck Cemetery.
