Nellie Gray Weis

Mrs. Nellie Weis, daughter of the late Eli and Nancy Gray, was born February 12, 1898, in Higgins, Tex. She passed from this life December 12, 1987, at the age of 89 years in her home.

On May 26, 1920, she was united in marriage to John Weis at the home in Higgins, Tex. They established their home in Higgins, Tex., and became lifetime residents. Her husband died March 21, 1983.

Nellie was a devoted homemaker and also taught music lesson in Higgins, Gage and the surrounding areas. She played the piano and violin beautifully. She graduated from the Kansas City Conservatory and was a Charter member of the Magazine Club. Nellie was a loving mother, cherished grandmother and a caring friend.

She was a member o the United Methodist Church and was the church organist for over 50 years.

Nellie was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband, John and one son, Charles Weis.

She leaves to mourn one son Raymond Weis and his wife, Jean, of Higgins, Tex.; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and many dear friends.

Funeral services were conducted 10:30 A. M. Wednesday, December 15, 1987, from the United Methodist Church in Higgins, Tex., with Rev., K. C .Blackketter and Rev. F. M. Wheat officiating. Interment was in the Higgins Cemetery with the Mason Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
