Funeral services for Florence Wilcoxson, 75-year-old Fargo resident, will be Tuesday, May 30, at 2 p.m. in the Liberty Baptist Church in Fargo. Mike Woods and the Rev. Donnie Heigle will officiate. Interment will be in the Fargo Cemetery under the direction of Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service.
Florence Elizabeth Wilcoxson was born Feb. 9, 1931 at Sand Creek in Grant County, Okla., to Herve Edward and Phillipine Florence (Arnold) Thomas. She grew up north of Fargo and attended the Fargo schools. On Oct. 9, 1945, she was married to Fred Frank Wilcoxson at Buttermilk, Kan. They made their home north of Fargo and later resided in Woodward, south of Fargo and then in Fargo. Florence had worked at Western State Hospital, as janitor for the Liberty Baptist Church and also at KFC, but working on the farm brought her the most satisfaction.
Florence was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Fargo and the Keenan Community Club. She enjoyed many activities, including baby-sitting, garage-saleing, crocheting, quilting and gardening. She was a collector of many things, being particularly proud of her rock collection. Having the family together for special occasions was a special joy.
Mrs. Wilcoxson died May 26 at the Woodward Regional Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973; a daughter, Betty Jo Wilcoxson; her parents, four brothers, Melvin "Brownie" Thomas, Arley Thomas, Delbert Thomas and Orville Thomas.
She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Pete and Suzie Wilcoxson of Bolivar, Mo., Larry and Rita Wilcoxson of Alva, Okla., and Mike and Lana Wilcoxson of Woodward; three daughters, Viola Vaughn of Fargo, Lavina Crouse and her husband Dwight of Fargo; and Linda Ashpaugh and her husband Leon of Mooreland, Okla.; two sisters, Cleo Thomas of Hazelton, Kan., and Fay Ella Woods of Woodward; two brothers, Floyd Thomas of Attica, Kan., and Norman Thomas of Fargo; 20 grandchildren, Sherry Robertson, Todd Francis, Shawn Francis, Tonya Rowe, Kristi Goff, Greg Crouse, Angela Garrett, Rachel Novak, Stephanie Wilcoxson, John Wilcoxson, Jennifer Farrow, Joey Wilcoxson, Brandon Wilcoxson, Alisha Wilcoxson, Tricia West, Arin Woods, Chad Woods, Ryan Wilcoxson, Dustin Wilcoxson and Chelsey Wilcoxson; 23 great-grandchildren, Dennis Robertson, Amanda Robertson, Tyler Francis, Tina Francis, Raven Francis, Joshua Francis, Chelsea Rowe, Robert Rowe, Chandler Hofen, Hunter Goff, Kasey Goff, Ashley Garrett, Trae Garrett, Zalyn Novak, Tucker West, Madison Woods, Jordan Woods, Randylynn Woods, Ryanne Woods, Kiana Wilcoxson, Cameron Wilcoxson, Samantha Farrow and Tracy Farrow; an adopted great-granddaughter Micah Morehart and other relatives.
Memorials ma be made to the American Heart or the American Diabetes Associations.
