The last meeting of the Domestic Science club year was held at the home of Mrs. M. Cassidy yesterday afternoon and assisting hostesses were Miss Catherine Cassidy, Mrs. A Buenting, Mrs. W. H. Mitchell and Mrs. George Paddock. Sponge cake and brown bread were demonstrated by Mrs. Cassidy and Miss Cassidy and the fee that is usually given to defray the demonstration was donated to the Red Cross fund. Interesting experiences of food substitution and conservation were given by the members. During the refreshment hour Victrola music was enjoyed. At the business meeting which followed the program the following officers were elected; Mrs. Ralph Hron, president; Mrs. B. O. Johns, vice president; Mrs. A. G. Dibbins, secretary and Mrs. D. A. Hunter, treasurer. The next meeting will be the annual dinner which will be served by the Methodist ladies on February twenty-second.
The monthly social session of the Maccabees were held yesterday at the home of Mrs. L. A. Hahn. The afternoon was spent with Red Cross sewing, music and various amusing stunts. Light refreshments were served by Mrs. Hahn and the assisting hostesses who were Mesdames Cecil Parham, Ochs, Harry, Pickett, Newlin, Mooney, Pegg and Ernest Metz.
Mrs. Robert A. Hallenbeck was hostess to the Kooney Mooney Shah Club yesterday and the afternoon was spent playing auction. The prizes for high and low score were awarded to Mrs. Frank Brown and Mrs. Earl Hopkins. The hostess was assisted by Mrs. J. H. Beland and Mrs. Lewis D. Bronson in Serving dainty refreshments. Next Friday the club will sew at the Red Cross headquarters and the week following will be entertained at the home of Miss Alice Tallman.
