Dr. J. C. Baird, who was a member of the fifth legislative assembly and secretary of the live stock sanitary board, is the editor of the new Democratic daily paper recently started at Weatherford.
Delaney, Tutor. Under His Instruction Twelve Men Graduated from the Guthrie Station. The local station of the Santa Fe railroad while under the direstin of L. R. Delaney, now of Wichita, was a great training school for railroad men. The following gentlemen are now active and efficient railroad agents, and graduated from the Guthrie Station. Police Court. Justice of the Peace J. L. Price is acting police judge during Judge Mock's absence. The following were before the bar of justice tody and took their medicine: Wm. McKee, fined $8 for jumping on and off moving trains. David Weldon, Wm. Campbell and John Alexander were assessed $10 for vagrancy and committed to jail.
The Filson toughs who carved two well known traveling men at Oklahoma City have been captured and jailed by Deputy Bartell.
The coroner's jury in the case of Eva Evans, aged 14, at Oklahoma City, returned a verdict that the girl was poisoned.
Probate Judge. The following cases were tried before Judge Foster today: Territory vs. Ed. Reese, bound over to the district court in the sum of $300. Reese is the man who, on May 2, shot at John Furrow, while the later was filling a contract with the city, in setting out trees. Territory vs. C. E. Reed, charged with assault with intent to do bodily harm, on the person of E. C. Myrick. Defendant bound over.
