The Battle of Cabin Creek on September 18, 1864 was the last encounter in Indian Territory between Confederate and Federal troops during the Civil war. Gen. S. Watie's Indian Brigade with Gen. Gano's Texas Brigade surrounded a Union supply train and forced Maj. Hopkins and his command to withdraw. The Confederates captured the entire supply train with goods valued at $1,500,000.00.
