Several Guthrians Expected to Attend Bridge Dedication
Guthrians interested in attending the bridge dedication Monday at the Kingfisher-Logan county bridge over the Cottonwood creek have been asked to contact the Guthrie chamber of commerce office.
A group will leave from the office at 11:15 a.m. Monday, according to J. C. Landers, chamber manager. He said about 50 from Guthrie are expected to attend the dedication.
Program will begin at noon with a free dinner at the Methodist church annex. A ten-mile tour will begin at 1 p.m. and will travel through the farming area and oil fields in the vicinity and then to the bridge, where a program will begin at 1:30 p.m.
The Kingfisher high school band will play for about 30 minutes and will be followed with speeches by representatives and senators from the two counties.
County commissioners from both counties will perform ribbon-cutting ceremonies on their respective sides of the bridge.
