February 11, 1914 - The Oklahoma Leader - OKLAHOMA RANCHMAN SHOT IN ST. LOUIS
East St. Louis, Feb 2-Thomas Gorgan, a buyer for "101 Wild West Ranch," lies in St. Mary's hospital here with a wound in his brain where a bullet passed from his forehead out the back of his head, unable to tell how he came by the wound. There is virtually no chance for his recovery.
There was nothing on him to show from where he came, but it is believed that his home is in Oklahoma as he had mentioned Oklahoma frequently to stockmen.
The shooting is one of the most mysterious that has troubled the police for some time. At first it appeared to be a plain case of attempted suicide.
