West Side Park is Named for Dr. Pitzhaupt
City councilmen this week voted to name the new city park being finished in west Guthrie in honor of Dr. Louis H. Ritzhaupt, who sold the property to the city last year for $3,600.
The property previously had been estimated in value at upwards of $10,000.
The area has been levelled and a tennis court and rest rooms constructed. Play ground equipment is to be added soon, and the park will be ready for use by late spring.
Dr. Ritzhaupt served as Logan county's senator for 20 years.
A plaque will be erected in the park with the inscribed names of Dr. Ritzhaupt and his late wife, Mrs. Lillian Ritzhaupt.
