Wm B Walker, who for the past three and a half years has been deputy court clerk in charge of the county court division, has announced for court clerk, subject to the Republican primaries in August. Mr. Walker is well qualified for the position. Before coming to Guthrie nearly five years ago, he ran an independent newspaper at Clinton, Okla, and had prior to that time served as county clerk of Custer county, having been elected to that office three consecutive times. He asks the voters of Logan county to investigate his official record here and in Custer county. Mr. Walker was formerly a Democrat, but for the past five years has been following the republican banner. However, "this not being a political year," efficiency and not politics, should be the rule to follow. During the time Mr. Walker has been deputy court clerk, he has dug up city fees and charges that has increased the showing of the office to nearly double that of former years.
