Freshman Class History

The first reminded of the coming school term that we received, came in the mail the latter part of July. This was in the form of a little pamphlet which contained "The Course of Study," for the ensuing year. The majority of us knew what to expect as we had spent one delightful year at F. H. S. as Sub-Freshmen, and were were looking forward to a deligthful year as Freshmen.
The months of July and August soon passed and on the 11th day of September a large crowd of girls and boys, their arms full of books, were gleefully making their way to the corner of Ash and Grant to Faver High School.
In less than a week the Freshmen were ready for real school life and were full of the school spirit. The Freshman class is the first and the last. To quote a few remarks of the class; what the faculty thought of us and our success in our studies, is best told in the following poem by Margaret Oden.
The teachers smile with pleasing grace,
When they, a Freshman class do face;
Because they know we're all O. K.,
And have good lessons every day.

The Seniors think we're very keen,
And we'll admit we are very mean;
Of course you know, we have no fears,
And thus we'll shine in future years.

The Juniors thought us very shy,
When we entered Faver High;
We smiled at their boys as they passed,
And won them away from their Class.

Our principal says we're a very smart class,
And as bright a one as ever passed;
And Seniors soon we all will cry,
The smartest class in Faver High.
During the football season and baseball as well, we were always the first class in the ticket selling contest. Besides, we did our best in rooting for the teams which represented the school in all of the contest.
Our enthusiasm had begun to wane somewhat at Christmas time, but after the vacation was over we were as willing for work as before.
This class has a membership of 55 girls and boys. So you may see that we are no small part of our dear school.
We intend to make sure our success for the future by building well today.
