Faver Sophomore Class of 1917

Sophomore Class History

The month of September, 1914, found enrolled at Faver High a number of ready and willing sub-Freshmen; namely; Marie Taylor, Helen Garrett, Marjorie Scales, Gladys Ralston, Inez Subblefield, Lovie Hilman, Flora Gratton, Nona Adams, Harmmond Grice, Willie Dulan, Inman Blow, Charles Everly, Othello Terrel, Lenard Eurell, Robert Capers, Odis Lakey, Viol Raigan, and Ollie Lewes.

We, as Sub-Freshmen were full of enthusiasm and loyal to our beloved school. During the year we were joined by Jasper Mabray, Oscar Moore, Hoarold Robinson, Douglass Spraings, John Anderson, Dilla Johnson, Esther Johnson, Ethel Locket, Esther Palmer, Laura Spraigns, Cora Wade and Mozelle White.

We soon lost Jasper Mabray, Earnest Graves, John Anderson and Mozelle White.

Our Class now numbering twenty-one departed in May with the hope of being a strong set of Freshmen the following fall.

September 15^th, 1915, found us over anxious to begin our Freshman work as our delightful year as Sub-Freshmen has given us new inspiration. We were joined by Adolph and Raymond Bowens, Garcia Fleming, Allison Golson, Arney Hamlin, Samuel McCord, Elijah Robinson, Carl Steele, Floyd Wilson, Marie Toombs, Mary Howell, Lucy Brown and Ruth T. Thornton. Gladys, Lucy, Mary, Floyd, Marie Toombs and Allison left us. But as we were determinded to complete our course we organized our class and continued.

AFter our short vacation we assembled once more at Faver High in September, 1916. This year we were joined by Marjorie Scales and Elizabeth Capers. We are still putting forth our best effort to reach the longed for goal and are departing with our class numbering forty-four.
