Submitted by: Mollie Stehno
Guthrie-A special grand jury to consider charges against certain officials of Logan County, may grow out of the secret court of inquiry here by George F. Short, attorney general, for the examination of more than a score of Negro witnesses from the vicinity of Meridian in southwestern Logan County. Following conclusion of Short's inquisition, it was revealed that a petition for a grand jury was filed with C. C. Smith, district judge, more than a month ago. Judge Smith has taken no action on the petition.
