Funeral services for Alfred Albert "Charles" Beery, 87, of Crescent will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at the Crescent First Baptist Church with the Rev. Marty Harkey officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrie Cemetery under the direciton of Abernathy Funeral Home.
Beery was born April 29, 1915 in Guthrie to Bert and Elizabeth (Tontz) Beery. He died Feb. 12, 2003 in Oklahoma City.
Charlie grew up in the Abell Community. He was a farmer and developer and owned a lumber yead and several businesses. He was a 32nd-degree Mason and a member of the First Baptist Church in Crescent. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
He married Georgia Beery on March 5, 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia, of the home; two sons, Glen Alfred Beery of Guthrie and James Robert Beery of South Carolina; one stepson, Pat Beery of Oklahoma CIty; one stepdaughter, Carol White of Oklahoma City; two granddaughters, Shannon Hendron of South Carolina and Glynnis Sturch of California; four grandsons, Charles Beery of Cashion, Robert Beery of Guthrie, Tony Beery of Tennessee and Chris Beery of Florida; two step-grandsons, Mike Jackson of Enid and Patrick Beery of Oklahoma CIty; one step-granddaughter, Sandy Andersch of California; 13 grat-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Nellie Kughn Beery; his second wife, Ellen Long Beery, two sisters, Martha and Edna Phillipps; and four brothers, Claude "Mutt", Ralph, Howard and baby boy Beery.
