Funeral services for Donald Wayne (Don) Burns, 55, of Guthrie, Oklahoma was Tuesday, January 28, 1992 at the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Daivd May officiating. Burial was in Summit View Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
Don was born February 24, 1936 near Clinton to Leonard William and Mary E. McColgin Burns. He died January 24, 1992 at Mercy Health Ceneter.
He had lived in Guthrie since 1959, moving here from Reydon, Oklahoma. He attended Panhandle State College and was a rancher. He retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Soil Conservation Service January 1, 1987. He was a member of the American Hereford Association and president of the Cattlemen's Association He was a former member of the Guthrie Lion's club. He married Roberta Ann Neulaus November 18, 1961 in Guthrie.
He is survived by his wife Roberta, of the home; his parents Leonard and Mary Burns of Reydon; a foreign exchange son, John Baker and his son, Dan Baker, both of Enkhuizen, Holland; a brother and sister-in-law Eugene and Elenita Burns of Agency, Missouri; a sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Tom Lovett of Oklahoma City; a sister-in-law, Matha Burns of Bethany; a mother-in-law, Hilda Neuhaus of Coyle; and three nieces and five nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, James Dan Burns.
