Funeral services for Earl Edgar Blanchard, 84, of Bethany, Okla. were at
1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel in Oklahoma
City. Pastor David J. Klumpp officiated. Services were under the direction of
Davis Funeral Home in Guthrie, Okla. Burial was at Resurrection Cemetery in
Oklahoma City, Okla. Earl was born April 21, 1915, in White River Junction,
Vt. to Glenn Everett and Genevieve Louise (Madden) Blanchard. He died Friday,
Oct. 29, 1999 at Logan Hospital and Medical Center in Guthrie. Earl had lived
in Bethany, Okla. for the past 37 years, moving there from Long Island, N.Y.
He retired in 1973 from the Federal Aviation Administration after serving 30
years as Chief of Flight Inspection Division. Earl was a member of the Prince
of Peace Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City, a member of the National
Association of Retired Federal Employees, Flight Standards Retiree's Inc., OXS
Aviation Pioneers, a57-year member of the BPO Elks of the USA, and a 61-year
member of the Masonic Lodge. He married Edith Cobb April 12, 1937, in
Harrison, N.Y., She preceded him in death in July 1983. His parents also
preceded him in death. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Donald
C. and Juanette Blanchard of Howe, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law,Debi and
Bill Wheeler of Guthrie; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild. There will be no visitation. The family requests that
memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
