Graveside services for Isabelle Eula Branson, 93, of Logan County were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 1999 at Beecham Cemetery, north of El Reno, Okla. Services were officiated by Don Vinzant of Edmond Church of Christ in Edmond, Okla. under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Guthrie, Okla.
Isabelle died on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999 at the Golden Age Nursing Home.
Isabelle was born to Edwin and Etta Brown on their homestead near Okarche, Okla. It is interesting to note that she was the sixth daughter born the sixth day of the sixth month in 1906. She graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1925. She attended the University of Oklahoma School of Nursing, graduating in 1928.
On Sept. 6, 1931, she married Charles A. Branson and they had two children, Elaine Smith (Mrs. Loy Smith) and James (Jim) Branson. She worked many years as a school and public health nurse throughout the state. She finished her career doing private duty nursing for the acutely ill.
Isabelle loved her horses, dogs and cats that she had on her farm in Logan County. She shared special times with friends at the Lazy E. Arena Inc.
Isabelle is survived by her dauther and son; one sister, Mrs. Alyce Menges of Medford, Oregon and several nieces, especially Virginia, Daphene and Etta Jane. She was proud of her seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She had a special friend, Gene Foyil.
Isabelle worshiped, when she was able, with the Edmond Church of Christ and appreciated her brothers and sisters in Christ. She will be missed, but certainly not forgotten.
