Our beloved mother, Irene Francis Brooks, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, in Oklahoma City. She was born Sept. 18, 1918, in Guthrie to Wade and Lois Green. She lived in Guthrie until 1988. She then moved to Haysville, Kan., until July of 2000 when she moved to Oklahoma City.
She is survived by three daughters: Glorene Seely, El Cajon, Calif., Dolores Strider and husband James, Oklahoma City, and Sharon Sells and husband Don, Haysville, Kan.: two brothers: Joe Green and wife Pauline, Laurel, MD, and Frank Green, Laurel, Md., one sister, Lorene Watts and husband Adrian, Tulsa: five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel, Guthrie. Burial will be at Summit View Cemetery. Viewing will be today from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Wednesday, 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
