Funeral services for Juanita Berg, 81, of Inola, Okla., were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Jones-Wilson-Cunningham Funeral Home Chapel in Locust Grove, Okla. Rev. Janelle Brammer officiated and burial followed in the Kansas Cemetery in Kansas, Okla.
Mrs. Berg was born on Oct. 12, 1919 in Stringtown, Okla. She died on January 25, 2001 in Cleora, Okla.
The daughter of Clyde W. and Ada Mae (Jones) Madlock, she grew up near Twin Oaks, Okla., where she met her husband Freddie Jerome Berg. They were married Oct. 16, 1939 in Jay, Okla. From this loving union six children were born. She was a loving, compassionate wife, mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her children; Gladys Scism of Porter, Okla., Virginia Sarasua and husband Jim of Guthrie, Okla., Robert E. Berg and wife Cindy of Inola, Okla., Loretta Ribak and husband Brian of Tulsa, Okla., Retha Browning and husband Chuck of Cleora, Okla., Regina Grego and husband Joe of Deer Isle, Maine; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wesley Madlock of Locust Grove, Okla. and Wayne Madlock of Roseberg, Ore.; and four sisters, Vonita Shaw of Crescent City, Calif., Hazel Gaylor, Willadean Hickam and Violet Dozhier, all of Roseberg, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred; one granddaughter; three brothers; one sister; and her parents.
