Graveside services for Marjorie Taylor Bridgeman, 91, formerly of Guthrie, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2002 at Summit View Cemetery. Interment will follow under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Bridgeman was born June 10, 1911 on the family homestead south of Guthrie to Thomas and Clara (Mahnke) Taylor. She died June 24, 2002 at Southwest Medical center in Liberal, Kan.
She attended Oak Ridge School southeast of Guthrie. She was employed by Fairmont Creamery, Pike's Merchandise and Dr. Hartzog's dental office.
She maried Charles (Red) Bridgeman on September 10, 1929 in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death July 3, 1995.
She resided in Guthrie until about two years ago, when she moved to Alterra Assisted Living Center in Liberal. She was a well-known antique collector, especially dolls, and sold many of her collectibles at the '89 Mall in Guthrie.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty "Jo" Maxwell and husband Paul D. of Liberal, one granddaughter, Julie Dickerman and husband Tony of Denton, Texas, and two great-grandchildren, Jared Regier and Rachella Regier.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, George, Nelson (Bud) and Frank, one sister, Mabel Brooks and one grand-daughter, Janelle Maxwell.
Friends may call at Smith Funeral Home Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m.
The family suggest memorials be given to Mercy Hospice, 4300 W. Memorial Road, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73120.
