Graveside services for Tressie Helen Best, 78, of Guthrie will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003 at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta with the Rev. Anita Carol Patterson officiating. Services are under the direciton of Smith Funeral Home.
Best was born Jan. 3, 1925 in Kenvir, Ken. to Boyd and Dorie Davis. She passed away Feb. 16, 2003 at Logan Hospital and Medical Center in Guthrie.
She was raised in Coalton, Okla. and later moved to Henryetta. Before retiring, she worked as a bookkeeper and later as a nurse in several different states.
Survivors include one daughter, the Rev. Anita Carol Patterson and husband Bill of Prosser, Wash.; three granddaughters, Darla Shanahan and husband Bill of Guthrie, Carla Aldrich and husband Danny of Guthrie and Amiee Patterson of Prosser, Wash.; 21 great-grandchildren, including Charlynne Taylor and husband Monty of Guthrie, Charles Hayes III and Kaci of Claremore, Chastanie Carter and husband Ricky of Claremore, Chris Hayes and wife Angie of Catoosa, Eugene Rogers and wife Lora of Oark, Ark., John and Jacinta Aldrich and Tony and Starla Shanahan, all of Guthrie, Chris Mundy of Coffeyville, Kan., Hillary Coffee of Iowa and Carie Patterson of Prosser, Wash.; 14 great-great-children and a host of friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin, her husband Seth and one daughter, Jenney Lee Christy of Oklahoma City.
Visitation will take place until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19 at Smith Funeral Home in Guthrie.
