A private family memorial service will be held for Verna Lou Baker, 65, of Guthrie. A public reception will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Guthrie, Okla. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Guthrie.
Verna was born March 1, 1934 in McAlester, Okla. to Harvey and Cora Baker. She died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999 at University Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla.
She is survived by two daughters, Janie Roberts and Virginia Kelly; two sons, Billy Erwin and Michael Cotton; one brother, James Erwin; six sisters, Thelma Erwin, Laura Dunagan, Betty LeFlore, Loretta Bailey, Leotta Haltman and Catherine Burk; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her eldest son, R. Duane Erwin.
